Some suggestions about how to use the mind map

By setting out the options as a mind map, it is clear that there are many potential intersections between the three goals, seven priority areas and eight methodologies.

In planning your 2008 application, you are encouraged to fully explore the possibilities that will suit your organisation's need for staff development and change management. You may find it useful to do this with other people in your organisation and/or in other organisations who have an interest in the project.

You could start with any of the three aspects. But in all cases you might consider the following:

  • How your proposal links Reframing the Future's goals and priority areas to your organisation's strategic plan.
  • Which of the priority areas is your main focus? For example, it is possible your project idea may involve 'Employability Skills' and 'Training Packages' and 'AQTF 07'. You will need to decide which one of these is the best focus for achieving outcomes with your participants by the end of 2008.
  • Which staff/people will be developed? What methodology best suits them?
  • Which methodology best suits the outcomes you are looking for?
  • The best way to develop participants' capabilities in both the priority area and through the use of a particular methodology.
